Together with Carlo Giovanardi, he founded in 1996 in the Italian House of Commons (and in 2007 in the Senate), the "Gruppo parlamentari amici della filatelia", which has organised yet three exhibitions at Montecitorio.
He introduced, together with Mr Giovanardi, the Italian law against forgeries of (out-of-use) stamps.
Since 2006, he is member of the "Consulta per l'emissione delle carte-valori e la filatelia", the service of the Ministry of Communication, that decides on the issues of Italian stamps.
In 2007, he introduced a bill for the salvation, the reorganisation and the valorisation of the Italian postal Museum, with a budget of 6 mio euro.
